What’s The Hype With Coconut Oil?

I’m a firm believer in Coconut Oil simply because … well, it simply works! For example, I had a cavity a few years ago, it was absolutely horrible and I’m a sheer baby when it comes to my teeth. I just naturally have poor dental issues, always have since I was adopted at nine months. And all the dental proceedures and visits my parents put me through to fix my teeth when I was younger really contributed to my ever-growing fear of Dentists to this day. So when I have teeth problems, I try to drag out the visits as long as possible. That said, a few years ago I had seen a Denitist for a cavity to which he informed me that it required a root canal. I was horrified. So, I went back home and for a few months I rinsed, cleaned, and swished with coconut oil non-stop. It was painful but eventually subsided and I could cope until my next visit.

The thing with swishing and rinsing with Coconut Oil when you have a cavity, is NOT to swallow it. Now, if you do, don’t worry, you won’t die! But you may end up with an upset stomach, bloatedness, gas, or even diarreah because the oil is extracting bad bacteria from your teeth and mouth and eventually all that guck will be spit out. But if you swallow it, well … all that stuff gets passed through your body and its just yucky. So, the key is to floss, then swish with coconut oil for as long as you like, usually 5 minutes is fine. But do this twice a day or several times a week.

Low and behold, my next visit the Dentist told me I did not require a root canal, but I still needed to get it cleaned and filled. I am positive that the coconut oil helped filter out the bacteria and heal the cavity! Which is no surprise considering coconut oil use dates back thousands of years. In fact, Coconut oil is used as a food and medicine all over the world by many different cultures.

Coconut Oil Has Been Used for Centuries

A certified nutritionist and naturopath, Dr. Bruce Fife, is the coconut oil expert, and Author of The Coconut Oil Miracle. He says the superfood has been a key component to ancient medicine in India for thousands of years, and the people of Panama are known to drink it straight from a glass for its illness-fighting abilities. “Many of these people enjoy remarkably good health and longevity. Studies on people who live in tropical climates and who have a diet high in coconut oil are healthier, have less heart disease, cancer, digestive complaints, and prostate problems.” he stated.

Some of the top coconut oil benefits include:

      1. What I remember is a drink called coconut drink. It was a brand of whisky that tasted really good and you were tempted to drink much of it which would land you in trouble.
